What Happens on
The Instructor
Interview.

Most men who land on this page are a decision away from scheduling the interview and stalling because they do not know what they are walking into. This page tells you everything. No mystery, no sales pitch, no surprises.

What the interview actually is

Not a Sales Call.
A Real Conversation.

The Instructor interview is a 45–60 minute phone or video call with a Battleworn Legacy instructor, one of the same men who leads the Convergence in Montana. It is not a pitch. It is not a recruitment tool. It is a direct, honest conversation about where you are, what brought you here, and whether this program is genuinely the right fit for you right now.

Not every man who has this conversation is accepted. That is not performative exclusivity, it is the program’s most important quality control mechanism. The Convergence produces the most in men who are genuinely ready for it. The interview is how we determine that together.

If you are not the right fit right now, the instructor will tell you honestly and may suggest a better time or a different first step. No pressure. No follow-up sequence. One honest conversation.

The Questions Are Direct on Purpose.

The instructor is not looking for the polished answer. He is looking for the honest one. These are not trick questions they are the questions every man needs to be asked and almost never is.

"What brought you to this page?"

Not the surface answer — the real one. What has been building? What happened recently that made you finally look for something? You do not have to have the words for it yet. The instructor has heard every version of this story. He will help you find it.

"How is your marriage? Be honest."

Not the public answer. Not the management update. The real state of your marriage, the distance, the conversations that have not happened, what your wife would say if she answered instead of you. The instructor is not here to judge it. He is here to understand it.

"What kind of father are you actually being?"

Not the father you intend to be but the father you have been. The presence or absence. The moments you missed and cannot get back. This is usually the question that lands hardest. That is why it is asked directly.

"What is your relationship with God right now — honestly?"

Church attendance is not an answer. The instructor wants to know where you actually stand, the doubt, the distance, the compartmentalization. He has been there. So has every man in the program.

"What would have to change for you to call this worth it?"

This question reveals whether a man is ready. The man who knows exactly what needs to change is ready. The man who is vague about it usually needs the Covenant first. Both answers are acceptable. Only one results in acceptance for the July cohort.

"Is there anything that would prevent you from fully committing to five days in Montana?"

Not a trick. A practical question. The forge only works on a man who is fully present for it. Logistics can almost always be solved. Reluctance cannot. The instructor will help you distinguish between the two.

You are accepted

You are enrolled in the Covenant immediately. Your Convergence date is confirmed. The investment is finalized. You have 48 hours to complete enrollment. Montana is on the calendar. The work begins now.

You need the Covenant first

Some men are close but not quite ready for the Convergence. You are enrolled in the Covenant, free, online, led by Battleworn instructors and the conversation about a future Convergence date continues. This is not a rejection. It is the right starting point.

The timing is not right

Some men are in acute crisis active addiction, severe mental health crisis, or circumstances that require professional care first. The instructor will tell you honestly and, where possible, direct you toward what you actually need right now. We would rather send you to the right resource than accept you into the wrong one.
