Statement
Of Faith.

Battleworn Legacy is a Christ-governed brotherhood. That is not a tagline. It is a theological commitment, one that governs every program we run, every standard we hold, and every man we forge.

What follows is not a list of preferences. These are the convictions that define who we are, who we serve, and the authority under which every man in this brotherhood is called to live. We do not apologize for any of them.

We Believe in One God.

Creator and Ruler of the Universe, limitless in power, knowledge, wisdom, love, and holiness.

We believe in one God who eternally exists in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. God the Father is the Creator and Ruler of the Universe, limitless in power, knowledge, wisdom, love, and holiness, and revealed as the Father of the redeemed.

God is not an idea. He is not a force. He is a person infinite in holiness, perfect in love, absolute in authority, and intimately involved in the lives of those He created. He is not distant. He is not indifferent. He is not manageable.

Everything that Battleworn Legacy holds men to flows from this single conviction: there is one God, He has spoken, and what He has said governs everything. The Trinity is not a theological abstraction, it is the relational foundation of the universe, and every man in this brotherhood is called to live under the authority of the God who made him.

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.”
— Deuteronomy 6:4

02

Jesus Christ

We Believe in the Jesus Christ.

Son of God, born of a virgin, crucified, risen on the third day, ascended, and coming again as King of Kings.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity, co-equal with the Father. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless human life, offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross, and rose from the dead after three days. He ascended to heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father and will return to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Jesus Christ is not merely a moral teacher, a historical figure, or a spiritual concept. He is  Lord. He is the only path to God, the only mediator between God and man, and the only name under heaven by which a man can be saved.

When Battleworn Legacy says “Christ-governed,” this is the exact conviction behind that phrase. Not Christian-themed. Not spiritually influenced.  Governed by Jesus Christ, His life as the model, His Word as the standard, His return as the horizon every commissioned man lives toward.

“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'”
— John 14:6

03

The Holy Spirit

We Believe in the Holy Spirit.

Co-equal with the Father and Son present in the world, indwelling every believer, and the power behind every transformed life.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation, providing power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.

The Holy Spirit is not a feeling or an experience to be sought. He is a person, the Counselor sent by Christ who leads believers into all truth. The disciplines that Battleworn Legacy holds men to devotion, physical readiness, home leadership, financial faithfulness are not self-improvement strategies. They are the ordered life that the Holy Spirit produces in a man who is genuinely surrendered to the authority of Christ.

A man in this brotherhood who seeks to operate in his own strength has misunderstood the entire program. It is the Holy Spirit who transforms. We simply create the environment where a man stops resisting that transformation.

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you”

— John 14:26

04

The Bible

We Believe the Bible Is God's Word.

Written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit the supreme source of truth for Christian belief and life, without any mixture of error.

We believe the Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error.

The Bible is not one voice among many. It is not a culturally conditioned document to be softened for modern sensibilities. It is the living and active Word of God breathed out by Him, preserved by Him, and authoritative over every man who names the name of Christ.

When Battleworn Legacy says “Scripture as authority,” this is the exact conviction behind that phrase. Not Scripture as inspiration or tradition. Scripture as the governing standard for how a man lives, leads his home, runs his business, and accounts for himself, without exception, without negotiation, and without expiration.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”
— 2 Timothy 3:16

05

Human Beings

We Believe in the Dignity and Fall of Man.

Created in the image of God for fellowship with Him and made totally incapable of returning to that relationship by his own effort.

We believe that man was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but became alienated from that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is totally incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God by his own effort.

This is the most honest diagnosis of every man who comes to Battleworn Legacy. He is not a good man who needs improving. He is not a broken man who needs affirmation. He is a fallen man who needs redemption, a man made in the image of God who has drifted far from the person he was designed to be.

The mission of this brotherhood is not to make a man more confident or more successful. It is to forge him into the man God originally designed restored through Christ, ordered by Scripture, governed by the Holy Spirit, and held accountable by brothers who carry the same conviction. The starting point of that journey is honesty about where he actually is.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
— Romans 3:23

06

Salvation

We Believe in Salvation by Grace.

A gift of God, not earned by self-improvement or good works, but received through faith in Jesus Christ alone.

We believe that salvation is a gift of God to man. Man can never make up for sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
Battleworn Legacy is not a salvation program. No amount of discipline, brotherhood, challenge, or time spent in Montana earns a man his standing before God. That standing was secured entirely by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. What the Battleworn journey produces in a man is not the basis of his salvation — it is the evidence of it. A man genuinely saved and surrendered to Christ will lead differently, live differently, and love differently. The disciplines of this brotherhood are not the path to God. They are the ordered life that flows from a man who has already found Him.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.”

— Ephesians 2:8–9

07

Eternal Security

We Believe in Eternal Security.

The true believer is secure in salvation for eternity maintained by the grace and power of God, not the self-effort of man.

We believe that God gives eternal life through Jesus Christ and therefore the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives us this security.

A man who has genuinely placed his faith in Jesus Christ cannot lose his salvation. This is not a license for complacency, it is the foundation of confidence that allows a man to step into the fire of genuine transformation without fear of condemnation.

The accountability, discipline, and challenge of this brotherhood are not the means of keeping a man saved. They are the means of keeping a man ordered, growing, and faithful to the calling that his salvation has secured. He does not obey to be saved. He obeys because he is saved and because the Holy Spirit inside him refuses to let him stay the same.

“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.”

— John 10:28

What governs everything

"Scripture is not a theme here.

It is the authority."

Every conviction on this page is not an organizational preference. It is the Word of God applied without apology. Battleworn Legacy does not hold these beliefs because they are comfortable or culturally acceptable. We hold them because they are true and because a man who builds his life on anything less than truth is a man building on sand. We will not negotiate these convictions. This is what we believe. This is what governs every man in this brotherhood.

08

The Church

We Believe in The Church.

The Body of Christ, expressed through local congregations and the community Battleworn Legacy serves, not replaces.

We believe the church is the Body of Christ, the family of God made up of every Christian on earth, expressed through local congregations. It is where the Holy Spirit empowers Christians to use their gifts in reaching the lost and helping each other grow spiritually, led by the Holy Spirit through the pastors and elders He has established.

Battleworn Legacy is not a church. It does not replace the local church. It does not compete with it. It serves it. Every man who completes the Covenant, the Convergence, and enters the Commission is sent back to his local church as a stronger member, more devoted, more accountable, and more equipped to serve the body he belongs to.

A man in this brotherhood who uses Battleworn as a substitute for local church membership has misunderstood what he is part of. The Commission holds every man accountable to his local church because that is where his transformation becomes visible to the people who matter most.

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together.”
— Hebrews 10:24–25

09

Marriage

We Believe in Biblical Marriage.

A sacred covenant exclusively between one man and one woman designed by God, defined by God, and not subject to revision by culture or government.

We believe the marriage covenant was designed by God to be exclusively between one man and one woman and is a permanent union between the two. God alone has the ultimate authority to define the marital relationship. Sexual intimacy is only properly exercised and pursued within the confines of marriage.

This is not a political position. It is a theological one and God defined marriage before governments recognized it, before cultures debated it, and before anyone asked our opinion.  We hold this conviction not because it is popular, but because it is true.

A man’s marriage is the first arena of his commissioned leadership. How he loves his wife, serves his family, and governs his home is the most visible and most scrutinized expression of everything this brotherhood produces in him.  A man who leads his industry and fails his wife has not fulfilled this mission. The home is primary. Always.

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.”
— Ephesians 5:25

10

Ordinances

We Believe in the Two Ordinances.

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper committed by Jesus to the local church, and observed until His return.

We believe that Jesus has committed two ordinances to the local church: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of the believer in water in the name of the triune God. We believe the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for the commemoration of His death. Both ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of Christ.

Baptism is the public declaration of a private transformation, a man going under the water as a picture of death to his old self and rising as a picture of new life in Christ. It is not what saves him. It is what he does because he has been saved. It is obedience, not achievement.

The Lord’s Supper is a regular remembrance of the cost of the salvation every man in this brotherhood stands in. It keeps the cross visible. It keeps grace from becoming routine. A man who takes the Lord’s Supper seriously is a man who never forgets what he was rescued from and what it cost.

“For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”
— 1 Corinthians 11:26

11

Eternity

We Believe in Eternity.

People were created to live forever, either eternally separated from God, or eternally with Him. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

We believe that people were created to live forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

The doctrine of eternity is not a theological footnote. It is the lens through which every decision in this life carries ultimate weight. A man who lives as though this life is all there is will always prioritize comfort over obedience, and the approval of men over the approval of God.

Every man in this brotherhood will stand before God and give an account for how he led his home, how he stewarded what he was given, how he treated his wife, how he raised his children, and whether he walked in the calling God placed on his life. That accounting is not distant. It is coming.

The legacy we build here is not for the approval of this generation. It is for the glory of God in this life and the one that follows. That is why the standard is high. That is why the brotherhood is permanent. A commissioned man carries this calling until he is called home.

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:10
